SAK Comedy Lab (Instagram | Website), downtown Orlando’s only improv comedy theater, has found a new home at 55 West Church Street. They are finally ready to open their doors to the public following a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8.
“This new location at 55 West offers fresh life to our company. We find ourselves in a neighborhood more conducive to our live entertainment audience, an upgrade to every aspect of the experience and triple the classroom space of our previous venue. That combination of upgrades means many more years of laughs for our audiences, our students and our corporate partners.”
– CHRIS DINGER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SAK THEATRE COMPANY
We told you HERE in September 2023 that SAK would be moving into a 7,200 SF space adjacent to the Hawker’s corporate offices and the Fringe ArtSpace on Church Street, which now features 175 seats in a new stadium seating format, a new classroom space with three separate studios, a small office, and a green room for performers.
The buildout is estimated to have cost roughly $1.4 million.
SAK Comedy Lab offers weekly improv shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. as well as specialty shows, classes, camps, and more. The company has been in business for 47 years.
