We told you HERE in April that United Arts of Central Florida (Website) had scored a contract to activate downtown Orlando with an ambitious new art program, and as of last week, they have soft-launched a series of free arts experiences around the Central Business District.

The arts organization was tasked with fulfilling the city’s vision of a downtown “where every day is filled with extraordinary experiences.” United Arts is now underwriting free, daily arts experiences day and night, on weekdays and weekends, in an effort to make that dream come true.

The soft launch started on May 16 with performances at Orlando City Hall and CityArts on Magnolia Avenue. Other live performance areas will also include:

  • 54 West Plaza
  • City Hall Plaza
  • Duncan Park
  • Heritage Square
  • Wall Street
  • 30 S. Orange Avenue
  • Lake Eola Amphitheater
  • Luminary Green Park

The activations also call for performances in the North Quarter and Parramore though exact locations had not been identified at the time of this post. Scroll down for a larger map of the performance areas.

Artists will be compensated with a minimum of $250 for a two-hour performance. Click HERE for more information on how to sign up for the program.
