Arts-instigating organization Creative City Project (Website) just announced the promotion of its executive producer, Melyssa Marshall, to the role of Executive Director today.

Marshall has been with the non-profit organization since 2012 when she started as an assistant to the founder, Cole NeSmith, and worked on the Immerse festival which transformed 10 blocks of downtown Orlando into an outdoor performance space.

“Melyssa has led almost every aspect of Creative City Project over the years. Her deep devotion to the organization and its mission is the reason we have been able to bring so many artistic experiences to life for our community. There’s no doubt that her increased stewardship will allow us to continue to platform artists to transform Central Florida for the better.”

– COLE NESMITH, FOUNDER/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, CREATIVE CITY PROJECT

The news also came with the announcement of the hiring of a new external affairs director, Ha’ani Hogan, PhD. Hogan is a familiar name in the Orlando art world, as she’s been on the team at Downtown Arts District (Website) for the past nine years, serving as the Development and Marketing Manager.

The Immerse festival has taken a hiatus in recent years but is set to return to downtown Orlando in February 2025, for the entire month, featuring large-scale sculptures, interactive art pieces, and more.
