Orlando’s own Ashley Eckstein will be coming to town to visit the Orlando Repertory Theatre, where she got her start in acting when it was still known as the Civic Theatre of Central Florida.
Eckstein, who has performed in local productions of The Miracle Worker, The Wizard of Oz, and The Children’s Hour, is most known for voicing Ahsoka Tano on two separate Star Wars animated television series. Tano, the only padawan of Anakin Skywalker (who becomes Darth Vader), was one of the most-hated characters in the Star Wars universe among fans when first introduced, but quickly became a fan-favorite later in the series.
Eckstein is a champion for female empowerment, equal rights, and anti-bullying and is the subject of her new book, It’s Your Universe, that she will share with an audience at a town hall discussion hosted by the REP at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31.
The event is for Orlando Repertory Theatre Youth Academy students but we’re sure you can get in if you use some fancy Jedi tricks at the door.
Editor’s Note: Watch below as an adult Ahsoka Tano faces off against her former master and feel the feels.
