Timucua hosting Chamber Music Festival throughout January

Timucua Arts Foundation (Website) will be hosting a month-long International Chamber Music Festival throughout January featuring musicians from around the world starting on January 10.

Festival highlights include:

  • VIBEAT – High-Level Chamber Jazz
    (January 10 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) – Award-winning vibes-led jazz fusion ensemble is celebrated for its innovative blend of jazz, R&B, trap, and electronica. Prepare for relentless grooves and bold improvisations. 
  • Out of The Galleon: A Program of James Hall Compositions
    (January 11 @ 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm) –  Instrumentalist and composer, James Hall’s acknowledgment and tribute to early jazz saxophonist Sidney Bechet, who is now sadly overlooked by music historians. Part of our anniversary celebration $25 tickets! 
  • Sokolowski Trombone Project (STP) Jazz Septet
    (January 11 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) – Original music from award-winning trombone quartet and rhythm section. Experience the all-encompassing sound of multiple trombones in the world’s premier living room concert hall.  
  • Compass Trio: Indian-Flamenco-Groove Fusion
    (January 12 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) – Compass Trio brings an original compositional voice to their collective experience and expertise – Indian raga and tala, the art of flamenco, jazz harmony, and deep groove.
  • Joshua Espinoza Trio: Quality Jazz Blend from Baltimore
    (January 18 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) – Jazz trio blends and bends genres into a style uniquely their own: Shimmering impressionism, deep grooves, and glowing introspection create a subtle interplay of American jazz, chamber music, and pop.  
  • Caroline Leigh Halleck and Greg Hankins Duo Saxophone & Piano
    (January 25 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) This bold duo of classical saxophone and piano performs unique arrangements of Grammy-nominated musicians, works influenced by Mediterranean folk music, and classical saxophone standards. 
  • Six One Five Collective: The Good Vibes Tour
    (January 26 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm) – Veteran openers for tours by John Legend, India Arie, John Hiatt, and Kenny Chesney perform an eclectic mix of high-energy original music and hit songs they’ve written for other artists.
