The Orlando Museum of Art has just announced that it will host skateboarding icon Tony Hawk for a special event and town hall discussion, moderated by photographer J. Grant Brittain, who is currently exhibiting there.
Hawk is featured in several photographs in the PUSH exhibit, which showcases Brittain’s work as a greater reflection on skateboarding through the years.
The event will kick off with a private meet-and-greet for 75 attendees with Brittain and Hawk, where there will be photo opportunities and autographs available. It will also feature a town hall discussion with Hawk and Brittain sharing their journeys, discussing their passion for the sport, and discussing the intersection of art and skateboarding.
“This event is a vibrant celebration of skateboarding and the rich artistry and culture that accompany it. Tony’s influence has shaped a generation and I’ve had the honor of watching him from behind the lens over the years. We are thrilled to share his remarkable story with the Orlando community.”
