We told you HERE that Enzian Theater (Facebook Website) was bringing back its hit “13 Films of Halloween” marathon again, but what we failed to realize was that they would e screening the witchiest of all witchy movies, Häxan,

Häxan, which is Swedish for “The Witch,” was released in the U.S. in 1068 as Witchcraft Through the Ages and is a styled as a silent horror essay film that’s part documentary and part dramatized narrative that looks at the historical roots around witchcraft in the Middle Ages through the 20th century.

It reproduces twisted medieval scenes full of torture and nudity and “sexual perversion” and had conservative chins wagging when it was released. Some scenes look at Satan seducing a woman away from her husband or a woman buying a love potion to ensnare a monk. And it’s full of rich stop motion animation and puppetry that will most definitely give you weird dreams when you get home.

Watch the trailer below and scroll down for some images from the film.

Tickets are $11 and can be purchased HERE.
