The Orlando Fringe Festival is underway at Loch Haven Park and there is an overwhelming amount of shows to choose from. Which is why we thought you should check out The Flashlight Cabaret.
This fun one-night-only production is formatted like a variety show and features a lineup of Fringe performers from other shows, performing anything they want as long as it’s not from the actual show they’re featuring at the festival. To make things even more interesting, there are no lights on in the actual theater.
Guests are given flashlights (or you can use the one on your phone) when they enter and they’re the ones that provide the lighting for the performers. It’s a chaotic mess of an evening that puts the power in the hands of the audience and serves as an excellent toe-dip into what the festival is all about and as an easy introduction to a large number of performers. If you like how someone performs during the show, look them up in the online schedule and buy a ticket to their show.
The Flashlight Cabaret starts at midnight on Wednesday, May 25th at the Orange Venue in the Orlando Shakes building. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased HERE. Tickets will sell out.
