VHS Swap and Show invite you to help celebrate the birth of the Weasel by taking part in a Pauly Shore double feature screening of Son in Law and Encino Man. Our VHS Swap and Screening will take place at The Falcon on February 1st 2019. Come dressed in your best Steven Tyler pjs, ready to swap tapes and get weird. This talk by historian Patricia Farless of the University of Central Florida focuses on the broader quest for female suffrage, beginning with Seneca Falls in 1848 and culminating in the passage and ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. In doing so, it considers the sacrifices and strategies of the activists in addition to their faults as they strove to achieve women’s right to vote.
