In a welcome follow-up to last year’s inaugural foray into new media, the Orlando Museum of Art will be hosting their Night Shift: An Experiment event again.

A handful of curated artists will reimagine the museum’s nontraditional gallery spaces and fill them with a diverse range of media. Guests will also be treated to a performance by Gay-Z, a photo booth hosted by Pulptown, and a cash bar by The Guesthouse.

Participating artists include:

  • Bahareh Khoshooee, an Iranian-born installation artist from Tampa who just recently created a video piece for Spotify’s first audiobook and served as an artist-in-residence at Skowhegan School of Art and Painting.
  • Chris LeBrane, a sound artist based in Orlando but born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who you may recall from playing keyboards and drums for groups like Kaleigh Baker, The Aristocracy, and Fallen Sons.
  • Bethany Mikell, a fiber artist based in Orlando, just completed her MFA in fashion design with a focus on slow fashion and handwoven textiles.
  • Brittany Metz, an installation and new media artist, will be creating a site-specific installation for the event. She often works in meditative video work.
  • Carl Knickerbocker, a film artist based in Oviedo, experiments with film shorts and stop-motion animations and will be featuring 15 short films at the event.

Tickets are $10-15 and the event runs 7-11 p.m. Thursday, November 29 at the Orlando Museum of Art, located at 2416 N. Mills Avenue [GMap]. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
