CFAM hosting lecture called “Severed Heads and the Power of Women”

Ilenia Colon Mendozia, Associate Professor of Art History at UCF, will host a lecture entitled “Severed Heads and the Power of Women in 16th and 17th Century Art” at Cornell Fine Arts Museum on Tuesday, November 6.

Mendoza will discuss #nastywomen who made history like Judith, Mary Magdalene, and Salome, just in time for Election Day.

The lecture is a part of CFAM’s exhibition, Dangerous Women: Selections from the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, which is on display through December 12 at the Winter Park gallery.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and is free to attend. The Cornell Fine Arts Museum is located on the Rollins College campus, at 1000 Holt Avenue, Winter Park [GMap].
