American Planning Association Florida (Website) is looking for nominations for the Great Places in Florida award.
The APA FL celebrates streets, neighborhoods, public spaces, and downtowns throughout the state that have “exemplary character, quality, and planning.”
A great place should have a true sense of place, culture, and historical interest, community involvement, and a vision for tomorrow. It must contribute to the greater community’s social, economic, environmental well being for the long-term and support a strong quality of life.
Anyone can nominate a Great Place by submitting a form via THIS LINK accompanied with a few words and photos of the place. A committee will narrow down the nominations to select finalists, from which people will vote for the People’s Choice.
Past winners include Downtown Pensacola, Cascades Park in Tallahassee, Fernandina Beach, and Mt. Dora.
