Following an unexpected Irma-sucker punch, the radio tower for WPRK was rendered useless, knocking the college-run radio station off the air and onto a streaming service while they sorted through the rubble.
The rehab efforts hit an eagle-shaped roadblock in June but all signs are currently pointing towards a near-future full of basement radio.
Greg Golden, Rollins College Director of Student Media told Bungalower that construction is finally scheduled to begin on August 13. If all goes according to plan, Golden says they are “very hopeful” that they will be back on air the same week.
