Mark Baratelli, the owner of TheDailyCity.com, recently announced on his website’s Facebook page that he would be ending his blog after operating it for the past nine years.
Baratelli’s blog served as one of the first hyper-local websites in the area to connect Orlando residents with the City’s growing cultural scene.
Baratelli explained to us that he ended the blog in order to pursue new opportunities. We’re sure whatever the plans may be, they will be creative and will help make Orlando a better, and more interesting place to live. He will continue to operate his successful series of Food Truck Bazaars.
In a little tribute to the Daily City and Baratelli, we have assembled some of our favorite posts of his (that we can still access) from over the past few years.
Editor’s Note: Baratelli let me write for his site when I first moved to Orlando. He also hired me to help with a number of his projects – the Mobile Art Show (a gallery in a U-Haul truck), the first two years of the Cardboard Art Festival, and the Big Box of Orlando Pop-up Holiday Shop. I am eternally grateful for him helping me to fall in love with this City and will always be thankful to him for setting the pace for bloggers in this town.
