This educational short film of Orlando in the ’60s was brought to our attention by Rhett Withey, one of the featured artists in the Mennello Museum’s Our Orlando exhibit and co-creator of the “Love Orlando” orange design in our online shop, HERE.
The film showcases Orlando’s industrial leaders of the time; Minute Maid, Walt Disney World, Tupperware, and NASA. It was originally created by the Chamber of Commerce to convince people to move to the area, the “action center of Florida.”
Be sure to see the bit on the Orlando Public Library at the 6:58 mark, or the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival at 8:27.
