The District is a reoccurring series, hosted by our partners at Studio 17 TV (Facebook | InstagramWebsite), that operates as your guide to what’s happening in the City Beautiful. Each month, Bungalower and Studio 17 TV round up the most exciting events happening and giving you a video preview of what to expect.

Local Love Night: for Zebra Coalition

UPDATE: We were hoping that Local Love Night could be a way to showcase our new studio, but thanks to your amazing promotion of the event, it’s blown up to be way too big to host in our space.   So as of this afternoon, I’m happy to report that Barbara Hartley, Executive Director of Downtown Arts District, has offered the City Arts Factory for the event, at no charge.

What is Mystery Sketch Theater? It’s a live figure drawing session that takes place once a month, on the first Thursday of the month at an awesome artsy bar & gallery called The Falcon (819 E. Washington Street, Orlando, FL 32801). The models are superheroes, burlesque performers, retro housewives, belly dancers, drag queens! It’s a hoot! 2017 Trash 2 Trends Fundraiser – A Recycled Runway Show

Trash 2 Trends has become a yearly fundraiser for our nonprofit organization Keep Orlando Beautiful. The purpose of this fundraiser is to educate attendees about the seemingly limitless possibilities of materials that many consider trash. In addition all proceeds from the event are then put directly back into our nonprofit side where the funds are used to purchase required outreach event materials to ensure volunteer safety, impactful changes, and overall community engagement.

Orlando Cringe, a public diary reading

Paws in the Park

On February 11th, pet lovers from all over Central Florida will gather at beautiful Lake Eola to support the Pet Alliance’s mission to educate, shelter, place, and heal pets and their families with compassionate, responsible care. Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is one of the region’s oldest and largest animal welfare agencies. Since 1937, we have served Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties by providing programs aimed at ending pet homelessness through safety net services for families with pets, free spay/neuter clinics and affordable veterinary care. In addition to the services we directly provide to pets and their families, Pet Alliance is also focused on being a community voice for responsible pet ownership and animal care.
