The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park (Website) has just announced its programming for its 90th annual Festival.

In keeping with tradition, the pre-Festival programming will commence on Friday, February 7 with a free recital featuring world-class organist Paul Jacobs. The heart of the Festival, which runs from February 13 through March 2, will feature works by renowned classical composers including J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, and Handel, as well as more contemporary music including spirituals and jazz.

Highlights of this year’s Bach Festival include:

  • Big Band Spirituals: Feb. 13 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. — A blend of African American spirituals and big band jazz.
  • Handel – La Resurrezione, HWV 47: Feb. 15 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. —  A stirring narrative of resurrection brought to life through Handel’s masterful first oratorio, showcasing his gift for compelling melodies.
  • The King’s Singers: Feb. 16 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. — With over five decades of global acclaim, this legendary ensemble delivers a cappella perfection, blending rich tradition with innovative artistry in every performance.

  • First Annual National Oratorio Competition for American Singers Finalist Concert: Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. — A competition established to help singers develop their career by giving young performers the opportunity to experience the joy of collaborative singing with an orchestra and chorus. Talented finalists will showcase their technical skill, expressiveness and mastery of this classical genre in front of world-class judges and an audience to declare a winner.
  • J.S. Bach Mass in b minor, BWV 232 with Bach Vocal Artists: Feb. 21 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. — This monumental masterpiece displays Bach’s mastery of technique and testifies to his  undisputed legacy as one of history’s greatest composers.
  • Beethoven – Mass in C, Opus 86 | Mendelssohn – Symphony No. 3 (“Scottish”): Feb. 23 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. — Beethoven’s spiritually profound Mass in C pairs beautifully with Mendelssohn’s evocative “Scottish” Symphony and offers a dynamic exploration of emotion and artistry.
