2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the longtime non-profit arthouse movie theater Enzian Theater (Instagram | Website) in Maitland.
To celebrate the four decades of indie film-sharing excellence, Enzian will highlight a different classic film from 1985 every month. The selection includes archival 35 mm prints to free family films, and more. Some upcoming selections include “Better Off Dead” on February 13 starring John Cusack, “Taipei Story” on March 8, and “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” on April 27.
They’ll also be hosting a 40th Anniversary Casino Royale Gala on Saturday, February 15. The James Bond-themed event will take place in the theater, which will be transformed into a high-stakes casino hall with live music and games. Costumes and fashionable moments are heavily encouraged. Tickets start at $150 and are available HERE for purchase.
The first in the series will be Clue on January 27 as part of the theater’s ongoing Cult Classics series. Click HERE for tickets.
