This past June, the Winter Park City Commission voted four-to-one to approve a plan for its former public library building, pitched by Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts. Now, we have some visuals of what their new home will look like in the near future.
Plans posted on the organization’s new website under the tagline “A Stage For All” included multiple performance areas, with the main 200-seat performance space on the first floor. That first-floor space is expected to open in early 2025.
The building will also include a space called the Groove Cafe where you can buy a drink, eat popcorn, and browse vintage VDs and LPs. Another 60-seat room for smaller productions and performances called the Bravo Stage is expected to open in Spring 2025 as well.
According to the website, Phase Two will launch in the summer with jazz programming in a new outdoor garden area with a special stage, and Central Florida Vocal Arts will be moving into the second floor to provide arts education opportunities.
A Third Phase will open with the Harmony Hall, for in-house and third-party arts education, gallery space, and community programming opportunities.
