SPONSORED: The Orlando Museum of Art is hosting an opening reception for their spring exhibition, The Wyeths and American Artists in Maine: Selections from the Collection of the Farnsworth Art Museum, on Friday, January 20 at 6:30 p.m.
This exhibition takes a look at how Maine has played an important role in American art and culture, since the 19th century. American painters flocked to the state to capture the wilderness and rocky coast. This specific exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of artist Andrew Wyeth’s birth.
This exhibit is also in collaboration with The Mennello Museum of American Art which is exhibiting four works by Bo Bartlett in their “Bo Bartlett: An American Artist” show, which we’ve written about in more detail, HERE.
A lecture by Michael K. Komanecky, Chief Curator Farnsworth Art Museum, will take place promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 per guest and free for museum members and tickets can be purchased in advance, HERE. Valet is available for $5 per vehicle.
