Crealde School of Art (Website) has just announced the appointment of Emily Bourmas-Fry as its new Associate/Incoming Executive Director.
We told you about the art organization’s search for the innovative position HERE back in 2023 when longtime executive director Peter Schreyer announced that he would be stepping down from his role in the near future. The Swiss-American documentary photographer took the helm at the art school after serving 13 years as the director of its photography program, leading its faculty of nearly 50 teaching artists.
“I am excited to work with Emily,” said current CEO/Executive Director Peter Schreyer. “I look forward to coaching and mentoring her over the next six months. Starting in January 2025, I will transition into the role of Executive Consultant for Community Relations, supporting Emily and the Board with the special relationships I have developed during my 29 years as an artist, educator, and administrator. I will also continue to serve on the faculty and manage the photography program.”
Bourmas-Fry brings 18 years of museum management experience to her new position, including her most recent roles at the Orlando Museum of Art, where she led fundraising, marketing, and community engagement initiatives. She has a Master’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Adelaide, Australia, is bilingual in English and Greek, and is a proud mother of twin girls. “Gurls” in Australian.
