Popular burlesque and performance troupe, Corsets and Cuties (Facebook | Website), is celebrating 10 years of cabaret this season, which will also be its last.
The Best of Orlando-winning troupe is celebrating its 10th season with a special event at The Abbey in South Eola, on Sunday, August 25. The event will feature guest stars and past members to help kick off the final season ever.
“It was never my intention to go this long. Shocked the hell out of me, I tell ya! It all started with the idea of giving those without a stage, but willingness and passion to perform, the outlet to do just that. And it kept growing- new cast members, new shows, new venues, Fringes, awards, troupes spinning off from ours…it’s been an amazing ride. And now the scene has just exploded. We’re seeing all sorts of niches represented that didn’t have a place before. And I think 10 years is a good round number to be pretty damn proud of.”

The rest of the season will include an amateur burlesque competition in September, a Halloween show in October, a Holiday Kickoff in November, a Valentine’s show in February, and a Spring show leading into the forever farewells at the Orlando Fringe Festival next summer – lottery results pending.
