Near the Witching Hour of Tuesday, June 28th, around 11 p.m., Orlando Museum of Art’s Board of Trustees issued a press release sharing that embattled Director and CEO of Orlando Museum of Art, Aaron De Groft, was no longer affiliated with the organization.
The letter, above, states that following the “revelation of inappropriate e-mail correspondence with expert Jordana Moore Saggese, Professor of American Art and the former Editor-in-Chief for the College Art Association’s Art Journal who told FBI investigators that she was asked by OMA Director Aaron De Groft to “stay in your limited lane” after casting doubt on the paintings’ origin and asking to have her name removed from any association with the exhibit.
“You want us to put out there you got $60 grand to write this? Ok then. Shut up. You took the money. Stop being holier than thou. Do your academic thing and stay in your limited lane.”
