The City of Orlando is partnering with One Orlando Alliance and the Downtown Arts District to install a number of picnic tables around downtown that will be decorated by local creatives.
25 tables will be “strategically located” throughout the city and the City of Orlando is looking for artists who are interested in painting them in exchange for a $350 stipend to do so. The City will prime and seal each of the tables for the artists; LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and artists with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.
Interested artists can submit a sketched concept for their table to Kat Quast at the Downtown Art District at kquast@dadorlando.com with a design that “conveys hope, inspiration, love, and kindness” along with a written description of the art by 5 p.m. Monday, April 4th at the latest.
The tables are scheduled to all be painted on Saturday, April 9, through Friday, April 15, between the hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
