An art show based on apocalyptic scenes from The Bible will be hosted at CityArts in downtown Orlando this April and participating artists could win up to $15,000 in cash prizes.
The Revelation Renaissance will run from April 21 through May 15 at the downtown gallery and feature work inspired by the final chapter of the New Testament, The Book of Revelation, or the Apocalypse of John. According to a press release, anonymous donors behind the show were inspired to read the New Testament during the pandemic and became “enlightened by the vivid imagery depicted through words” to sponsor an art exhibit based on the book.
Suggested themes for submitted works include the war between Heaven and Hell, the Tree of Life, the return of Jesus, etc.
Artists have until February 28 to submit their pieces for review HERE. All works will be available for sale and prizes will be awarded as follows: $10,000 for Best in Show, $2,500 for second place, $1,000 for third place, and $1,000 for People’s Choice.
