The Dr. Philllips Center for Performing Arts (Facebook | Website) will be hosting a six-month event series in the Seneff Arts Plaza at the Dr. Phillips Center that will feature a number of live performances, workshops, and events in a safe, engaging environment, seven days a week.

According to an early project description filed with the City of Orlando, the Frontyard Festival will feature a mix of local community arts groups and musicians as well as film screenings, sports broadcasts, and comedy acts.

The plaza will be transformed with roughly 300 5×7-foot boxes that will seat up to five people at a time to ensure adequate social distance for families and groups while enjoying the programming. This early estimates are that events in the plaza will be able to accommodate a maximum of 1,900 people with a social distance.

The Frontyard Festival will also feature local restaurants on-site providing seasonal menus, beer, wine, and cocktails that can be pre-ordered or ordered during the event, and delivered to the guest’s box.

City Council will vote on whether to fund the series via a funding agreement between the Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Agency and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in the amount of $250,000 at the upcoming October 19 Council Meeting.

An event schedule has not been made public at this time.
