The National Geographic and Warner Bros. series The Right Stuff, which was filmed in Orlando, has been released on Disney+.
The series was filmed in Orlando and the Central Florida/Space Coast region from July to December 2019, with Orlando serving as the series headquarters for most of the production. We first told you about the project HERE in July 2019.
The series re-imagines the 1983 film of the same name and follows the early days of NASA and the lives of the seven Project Mercury astronauts and their families, and stars familiar names like Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Patrick Fischler (Happy!), Jake McDorman (Greek), and Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless).
The Orlando Economic Partnership’s Orlando Film Commission worked with the project during preproduction and production, finding and securing locations, processing all permits and facilitating conversations between the production and government partners including the City of Orlando and Orange County. It’s estimated that the series boosted the local economy by employing nearly 600 local professionals, occupying more than 7,500 nights at local hotels, renting local equipment, and caterers, over the 185-day production.
