The City of Orlando is seeking an artist or artist team to create a new three-dimensional piece of art to be installed along the I-4 corridor.
Te proposed artwork will be placed near the Colonial Drive Pedestrian Bridge, just south of Colonial Drive, north of Concord Street, east of Garland Avenue and I-4, and west of the CSX railway.
Project submissions are open starting today, Thursday, July 23, 2020 and must be received by midnight on August 27, 2020 via THIS LINK. No paper or electronic submissions outside of the previous link will be accepted.
A budget of $350,000 has been assigned to this project, paid for by the I-4 Ultimate Art Endowment Program, which is funding multiple installations all along the interstate. Click HERE to see the winning design by RLF Architects which will be installed in Winter Park by the end of the year.
Our calls for giant tentacles and life-sized Godzilla statues have gone unnoticed.
