The Thornton Park Main Street District is hoping to transform their stormwater drains into public art installations, just like Mills 50 did HERE.
Thornton Park is requesting the City’s consent at the Monday, August 15 City Council meeting, as all stormwater drains are property of the City of Orlando. Pursuant to the agreement, “The Artwork shall not operate as a sign, as defined under Chapters 64 and 66 of the Orlando City Code, and it shall not contain any nude images or religious/political symbols or resemble graffiti.”
Below is a map of all the intended art installations. No Call to Artist or start date has been announced for this project.
