Local musician gives life to old train song

We issued a challenge earlier in the week HERE asking Orlandoans if they could read sheet music and reenact an old song we tripped over at the Orange County Regional History Center.

The song, called “The Dinky Line,” was one that commuters would reportedly sing while riding on the Dinky Line train from downtown Orlando to Rollins College. The 6.5-mile track was infamous for having delays caused by shifting sands and wandering cows but ran for 70 years before being shut down in 1967.

Local musician Matt Tavera (@mbtavera) took a stab at the song and you can watch his incredibly charming rendition above.
