United Arts announces recipients of third cycle mini-grants

United Arts of Central Florida (Website) has announced the recipients of its February cycle of Mini-Grants and its Arts Learning Mini-Grants.

United Arts has three cycles of grants each year, through which they reach out to local non-profits and cultural organizations.

This cycle awarded a $500 grant to the College Park Neighborhood and Theater Center for their production of Lark Eden, to be performed at nursing home and rehab centers in Orange County.

The Arts Learning Mini-Grants were awarded to:

  • Crealde School of Art (Website) – $2,500 – for their Hands-on Inspiration: Visual Art Sampler, an art program for adults with decreased physical, mental, or social ability.
  • Florida Humanities Council (Website) – $2,500 – for their Telling: Orlando performances, based on the stories of veterans and their family members.
  • Orlando Museum of Art (Website) – $2,300 – for Art with Purpose programming, in partnership with the Zebra Coalition.
  • Urban Think Foundation (Website) – $2,011 – for a two-week expansion of Page 15’s Young Writers Summer Camps in Downtown Orlando.

United Arts is now accepting applications for the next cycle of (newly named) Arts Learning Mini-Grants. The next application deadline is 5:00 p.m., August 1, 2016. The maximum grant award is $2,500 per organization per year.
