UPDATE: Applications/Submissions for these art projects are not open at this time. We will share that information once it is public.
The I-4 Ultimate Art Endowment Program will place public art installations adjacent to or near the 21-mile stretch of the I-4 corridor that’s being … well, Ultimated.
The initiative, facilitated by the project contractor, will fund permanent installations along the interstate that can be integrated into highway overpasses, pedestrian bridges, parks, streetscapes, and gateways.
I-4 Mobility Partners will underwrite the Art Endowment Fund to the tune of $1.5 million which will be distributed to municipalities along the corridor as follows:
- Altamonte Springs – $200,000
- Eatonville – $225,000
- Maitland – $200,000
- Orange County – $225,000
- Orlando – $400,000
- Winter Park – $150,000
Each city will be in charge of their own criteria and solicitations for artwork as the project draws to a close. All installations are requested to be in place by February 2021.
Funds are meant to cover all short-term and long-term costs of designing and creating, and maitaining the selected art installations.
