It’s official, LaFontaine Oliver, the president and GM of 90.7 WMFE, will be leaving Orlando.
The six-year WMFE superstar has accepted a new position at WYPR in Baltimore as their new president and general manager. According to a statement issued by WYPR, Oliver will assume his new role on July 1 of this year.
During his time with WMFE, Oliver established a four-year strategic plan that helped the station grow its revenue by 30 percent and double its market share.
The WMFE Board of Trustees is currently working with Oliver on defining the role for his replacement before launching an nation-wide search. If the search hasn’t yielded a replacement in the next two months, they will install an interim president.
Side Note: WMFE is hosting a Tiny Desk Contest and you can vote for local bands in the national contest HERE.
